John Taylor is an affluent man who is about to become the next City Mayor. Suddenly all changes when his wife Joanne is viciously murdered. Shortly after her death he receives a ransom note ordering him to pay fifteen million dollars in exchange for photos that could indict him in the murder.

John secretly agrees to meet and pay the ransom to save his career.

Before the money exchange in a dark dockside street he pulls a gun and shoots at whom he believes is the Person demanding the ransom. A female's scream pierces the frisk night air and upon investigation he realizes and believes it is his wife that he has shot and again sees lying dead.

The stakes are raised and unpredictably John is forced to pay the ransom.

The Ransomer a person known to John is revealed, as to the seemingly impossible fact his wife has been found alive and is in protective custody at a local hospital. John races to her bedside to find it is his worst nightmare.
